A Quiet Place – Horror Sci-Fi Movies: On a ravaged post-apocalyptic Earth, the Abbott family is forced to live in silence, forage for food and walk barefoot hiding from extraterrestrial monsters with ultra-sensitive hearing. “Your father will protect you. Your father will always protect you.”
On a ravaged Earth, overtaken by a fast invincible alien species, Lee (John Krasinski), wife Evelyn (Emily Blunt), their deaf teenage daughter Regan (Millicent Simmonds), and younger sons Marcus (Noah Jupe) and Beau (Cade Woodward), are striving to survive. In a deserted town they forage for food, walk barefoot, while trying to keep quiet. An alien species with have ultra sensitive hearing has overrun the world and attack any sound they hear. Evelyn and Lee are determined to find a way to protect and raise their children, while desperately searching for a way to fight back.
Not a bad sci-fi movie. 95% of the movie has no dialogue, for obvious reasons. For me, that seemed to make the movie drag a little. especially when there was no action. Still, it had some excellent suspense leading to scary moments that kept me on he edge of my seat. The movie did well at the box office and received enthusiastic approval worldwide. It was nominated for several awards and Emily Blunt won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role.
My Rating: 9 out of 10
